Photography assessment 2023
Collections
For this assessment i am doing collection made by Olivia parker she done this picture in 1984.
What can you see in this photo?
What I can see in this photograph is that it's on a beach or somewhere where there is sand also I see shadows and 3 shells and some sticks that are next to each other the colour of the photo is black and white what makes it look a bit old fashion, also it looks like it is in a calm place it looks very natural.
How do u think Olivia parker created this image?
How I think Olivia parker created this image is that she went to a beach or a place that has sand and collected shells sticks and rocks then she has put them together on sand, and she has put shadows in here image to add more detail and so it can show more objects in the picture so it doesn’t look plain she also done the picture in black and white.
How does the picture make me feel?
The picture makes me feel calm and releases anxiety and stress, it could also relax your brain. Nothing is happening in the pic it's just a calm image of shells sticks on a beach. If I could talk to the artist the 3 questions, I would ask her what made u to do this picture? And I would ask What was u thinking at that time? Last question I would ask Olivia parker is what made her do photography?
How does some basic research help you understand the picture and the artist practise? How does your understanding of the picture change/improve?
Basic research helps you understand the picture and the artist practise, it helps me by telling me more detail about her and the picture so then I can get to know what she likes. Olivia Parker is a Manchester-by-the-sea-based American still-life photographer. Also she draws inspiration from the histories of art and science. Olivias pictures can be done by soft natural and sunlight as they both portray the vulnerability of photographed object. From her pictures it shows that she likes shells and likes having her photographs in black and white.
it shows here some of Olivia parkers photographs the one on the right I am doing right now as u can see there is three shells and some sticks and shadows on sand in black and white.
