Here are two photos of Laura Letinsky's work
what i see these photos are loads of images put together to create one image what i can see in this one image is a picture of a bed and they try making a person out of and image like there is a hat cut out body i think it looks really cool. How i would describe this photo to someone that cant see it is that i would explain to them that the artist has used multiple photos and commended them together. Also they have made a cut out body of a person and stuck it in the picture what makes it look like its in there bedroom because there is a picture of a bed in the background. One thing that is new is that it makes it look like the person is sticking out, I think this is pretty cool because i never seen it before and it would be cool to try and recreate but with something different maybe with a different background maybe like a sunset with some objects in the way.
My first step is i took some photos of some sunsets, Here at the bottom are some of the photos i have taken what are really cool i think, what i like about these is that the different colours of the sunset on a different day as u see in the first photo looks like the sky is on fire i would say that the first photo is one of my favourites out of them all, because of the colours and how the clouds makes the sunset stand out even more. One way i would describe these pictures to someone who cant see them, i would start by saying about the colour of the sunset and how beautiful it is and it makes the clouds turn the same colour as the sky. Also i think it is a really good picture, i think i took the picture at the right time or maybe i should off took the picture like 10 to 20 minutes before to actually see the sun in the picture. But now i am gonna cut up some of them photos and try and put them together to see what it will look like.

What is the difference between a still and moving object
A still object is like fruits, flowers, tools and toys, so a still object is something that isnt a video or movie.

Marilyn Henrion
.what i see in this photograph the same picture but cut up and put in the wrong places a couple of words i would describe about this picture is first it is fabulous, working piece of art.
.What i like about these photos are the different colours and where they are in different places that makes it look much cooler, These pictures Marilyn henrion takes are of tall buildings and the she cuts them up and replaces them in a different place then they where before to create a fragmentation photo
.This picture looks different from real life because of how they are coloured and organised makes them look like a cartoon photo alittle but they look really good.
.The second picture i would say is my best looking one that Marilyn henrion took and made, In the second photo the main thing i like about it is the different colours and where they have been organised in a different place to make one photograph.why i like this is because i love how she organised it it actually looks really satisfying a little.
.In the first photo i think it doesn't really work well because it doesn’t have a good background its a bit plain unlike the second and last one i like when there is something in the background like a sunset or even some colours or different buildings.

Here are some photos i have taken from outside of school, i printed them out and started to play around with them so i started cutting them both up in 5 strips to mix them up, so what i have really done is i looked at marilyn henrion work and i thought they good for fragmentation so i decided to copy but with my own work and by doing it myself.
After i done that, i have another picture that i have taken and i done the same thing as the others i cut it up into 5 pieces and started to combined them together and make pattens, every time i took one i kept taking photos and then restarted and recreated another with the same images, Here are some of the photos were they have three different photographs. These photos are really cool thats what i think. The way i swapped them around and started placing the different cut up pictures in random places to try creating a single fragmentation photo
What next?
I have got two pictures but both kinda similar as they are both landscapes.
I want to cut them into in too 18 squares on both pictures and then put them randomly to create a fragmentation photo.
I'd like to explore the following actions with them

I'd like to explore the following actions with them
- Overlapping
- Layering on top
- Putting them onto the photocopier and making digital
- Transferring onto acetate
Here i have layered some cut up photos onto a picture and then took a photo and turned it digital and uploaded it too my website.
Moving away from landscapes
When I typed into google what fragmentation was it came up with the following
"Fragmentation, also known as a splitting method of reproduction and is seen in many organisms such as cyanobacteria, fungi, many plants, and also in animals including flatworms, sponges, some annelid worms and sea stars."
I'd be interested in exploring fragmentation within nature - I have decided to experiment with photographing close ups of natural objects - And looked at the work of Karl Blossfeldt

Karl Blossfeldt
Karl is a german photographer, he is best known for his close-up photographs of plants and living things he was inspired by his father, His father liked nature and they way plants grow.
Here are three examples down underneath of his work he has created these are some pictures of plants that he has zoomed into too take these fragmentation photographs.
A series of 10 photos, exploring close ups of plants flowers.
Microscopic images - Speak science?

What i am gonna do now is that i am gonna grab a camera and start to taking photos of the grass, flowers and possibly trees,
Then start playing around by zooming in into the pictures so i could go and get a microscope. After i could change the colour too black and white to kind of recreate Karl Blossfeldt. Karl Blossfeldt does his work in black and white because in support of his argument that all forms created by a man had their origins in nature. I think that black and white makes the picture old but looks really exceptional/good.

Here are some of the pictures i have taken around school but i dont think they are good enough because they don't show fragmentation the way I wanted them too - They're not close up enough.
I know I need to use the macro setting on the camera to help with this.
I know I need to use the macro setting on the camera to help with this.
- They're not close enough
- Framing not right but I could crop them to make it better
- Would like to look at symmetry
- Repeated patterns aren;t clear close up
Here are some good photos but there not good enough because there are some flowers that are out of focused and some are not but i might start taking photos of the shells and bones and possibly and i would like to see how they would look if they where on a plain background too see how they will turn out.
Here are some photos i have just taken of Coral from Mexico that a friend found on the beach. I took some photos of different angles of this bone the side top and bottom as u can see. There are different pattens on every side some places has holes and some dips to create a curve but not like a smooth curve. Also what i have done with some of the pictures is i used my phone torch light to brighten up the part i wanted to to focus on, so isn't a full image i wanna focus on the curves and the structures this bone is formed in. What i like about these photos are they are very unusual i have never worked on this bone before so now i could discover all the forms and photograph them and see what i can do with them.
What i can do now is put them underneath a proper light too see every edge and so it can brighten up the pictures

Here i have taken some pictures i have taken off a coral from Mexico, so what i have done with these is i put them under a light and took a picture of all the pattens on this coral, because all the pattens look amazing, i think i could take photos of other fossils and then join two fossils together in the same picture underneath the lighting too see how they would look.
I am going to print out my images and start to explore cutting them up using a ruler, to make it more rigid.
I really like Karl Blossfeldt's images so I cam going to try and recreate some of his photos, thining about the tone and colour. He uses film but i am going to use digital photogaphy and take into acetate. Then I'm going to make a photogram, using the dark room.
I might also think about using Cyanotypes as they were used to document botanical stuff before cameras - I have added a picture below.

A cyanotype is a monochrome print or image made by placing objects on a pre-prepared light-sensitive surface.
As cyanotypes are created without a camera, the prints or images they create are correctly called ‘photograms’. The very name ‘cyanotype’ is derived from the Ancient Greek words for ‘dark blue’ and ‘mark/impression/type’.
The vast majority of cyanotype printing creates a negative photographic image on a dark blue surface – the light-sensitive surface is exposed to the sun to ‘develop’, capturing the shadow of the objects placed on the surface, creating a stencil-style image.

I really like this design and want to try it with my coral pictures. I think it would be confusing and sort of weird. I'll see what happens and then go from there
I have taken some photos of two shells, I put these two shells in a white background with a light over the top, when I tried taken the photos it was hard to keep my own shadow out of the images but i couldn't find a good angle to keep my shadow out.
Now I have printed some of these photos out I have a black paper I'm trying to recreate the image above the shells, but instead of trees and water I'm using a coral pictures and shell pictures that I have taken.
Here is a photo of what I have done so far, now I could add more images on the left side either add more coral pictures or shell images, or maybe in some of the gaps I could add some colour paper maybe like a light blue.

Now what I'm doing is creating and overlapped photo so, so far I have cut out and stuck some images like wise, on the edges there are different shells and then in the middle I had two photos but they're the same but one is in colour and the other one is in black and white, so I cut them both in half and glued them both in the middle as u can see in the bottom picture.
Now im gonna print it out and try overlapping.
then start sticking more random shells and coral pictures to see how it turns out.

So what I have done here is taken some photos of these shells and printed them out, after I made them into acetate so I can make them into positive.
The images that are below are negatives, these are made from the positive images, I made sure that the shiny side was on the image, then I put them underneath the light for 20 seconds for both of them, as u can see the left one didn't come out as I wanted it too so I'm gonna try it again and hopefully get a better result, but the right image came out fantastically, it looks nice and blurry but not much u can also see what the image is unlike the the other negative photo.
