What would be my ideal landscape?
My ideal landscape is on a beach with blue clear water with a sunset in the background that makes the sky orange.
Describe the landscape u see when u look outside ur classroom or ur bedroom.
The landscape I see outside my classroom window i see grass what is flat land and see another building next to me.
Have I ever taken a landscape picture before?if so, what was it off and what was it like?
I have taken a landscape picture on my phone, it was when I was at my dads and the sunset was nice so I took a picture of it.

My landscape
The last couple of lessons we have been making are own landscape pictures, The first thing we done is we watched miss poor the different chemicals in 3 different trays after we done that I cut out some mountains and water and placed it all together making one picture.
when I finished with that I turned it into acetate so the paper is more thin and it makes it look like the picture wasn't put together. Acetate is a transparent sheet of plastic that has my landscape on then I put it on a photographical paper
then go I'm gonna make my work further and go into the dark room and put my acetate on photographical paper. That made it into a negative landscape this is an area in between or around the positive elements of a subject. Also it like a space behind the subject that is in the background. The negative shows the dark bits in the landscape.
when It was done I went back into the darkroom and turned it into a positive. This shows the white in the positive landscape, the main definition of a positive is that the area contains the main subject in the landscape or the objects of the picture. I prefer it a
Out of focus landscapes
The infinity series is an extensive body of work that bill Armstrong have been photographing since 1997. It includes a wide range of portfolios, from figurative to abstract, that are made using his unique process of photographing found images extremely out of focus with the camera’s focusing ring set at infinity. Bill Armstrong , He is a New York based fine art photographer who is known for his blurred colour photographers. He was grown in concord, Massachusetts born in 1952. The reason he does out of focus pictures he says it includes a wide range of portfolios from figurative too abstract. Also Bill Armstrong is fascinated by the profound effect that colour can have a perception and emotions. I like his work as you can't always tell what the work is about.
The three images above are colourful, figures that are out of focus, They are all solo people. There seems to be a consistent use of blues, yellows and blacks for the show or silhouette of the figures. One look likes it mighr be at a beach but the others are difficult to say.
Uta Barth, is a contemporary German-American photographer whose work addresses themes such as perception, optical illusion and non-place, what inspirited her is snow effect mornings and Claude monets wheat-stacks.
Uta Barth technique, unlike any other photographers who focus on tangible subjects in their work, Uta Barth produces photographs that give the impression that the image is out of focus because of the camera attention is elsewhere. add my own out of focus pictures - These worked as there is there a common factor that runs through them all - Of figures.
Here are some photos of out of focused pictures of uta Barth work, these are amazing the details that are in them too like in the far left u can see the red lights from the lights, the main colours that are in this picture that i can see is red black and a little bit of grey.

Out of focused landscapes
These where my responses to Uta Barth. The out of focus pictures i would say was easy because all i did was open my camera then place my finger in front of the camera lens then hold and press where my finger is and hold it until it says AE/AF lock button. Then after remove ur finger and it should be out of focused.
Dionne Lees 'Draft'
In the Artist’s Studio | Dionne Lee
YouTube · Museum of the African Diaspora MoAD 1 hour, 11 minutes, 25 seconds 26 Apr 2021 Here is the link of Dionne lees draft,
Here are some pictures i have found, these images are off what she was doing in the video, what Dionne Lee was doing in this video was that she had different photos and started cutting them up and placing them on other pictures to see what they will look like, so she was playing around and just placing random cut outs onto other cut outs to create o single photo. |
What I think of the video is that its kinda random I think maybe if she spoke it probably would off confused me as much.
In what ways is this film an example of a ‘constructed’ landscape? How did the artist make it? What did you like about it? How is it similar/different to conventional (traditional, ordinary) landscape images? Where did the images she uses come from? How do you think the artist feels about landscape photographs? |

Today miss wildy made us go onto google maps and search a country that it says on the wheel spin she span then she span another wheel spin that tells us what to find. So we had 5 minutes to search the country and find the object the wheel spins shows, after the game we have to put it onto are website. i could only find some pictures but the ones i didnt do was Nairobi-graffiti, kingstown-sport, Athens google glitch and a person pointing and helsinki-google glitch and last one brazilia-tall building. I liked this lesson today because it was very interesting and very unusual, i thought the class had fun but some people where getting annoyed because they couldn't find anything or go onto person view on google maps so some got a little annoyed but it was fun in today lesson.

Dafna Talmor research
These pictures of Dafna Talmor are constructed landscape pictures.
This image is very creative like her other images, I like the design and different shapes she has put in the work, what is cool about the two pictures is how she put the lighting of the sun in the background around the cut out shapes creating a whole picture but it is in many different forms and colours . The trimmed spaces shows the negative colours as u can see on the edges, the cuts makes it stand out more. Here are some of my own constructed landscape images. The fist step in making them was printing them on to acetate before altering and changing them. After i got some scissors and gels/transparencies to design and change them around. Then i put them in a slide projector to check if i like them or if i can change anything or design it more. I like these constructed landscape because i made them nice and colourful also i like the scratches that i done to them because makes the picture look old and a little ruined. One thing i can do better is that i could maybe cut it up a little or design it more maybe more colours init or scratches and maybe that would make it turn out better. My Personal Response |
Galen Rowell
This constructed landscape is from an photographer called Gallen Rowell, He focuses on colour, mountains. what i think he is trying to do is get a good picture with the sunset and mountains in the background like snowy mountains and normal rocky, grass mountains also he is and adventure photojournalist and a mountaineer. He became a full-time photographer in 1972 and then he sadly died august 2002. What i like about Gallen Rowell work is he has good pattens and also how he focuses on mountains and sunsets in the background.
Galen Rowell
Gallen Rowell is a nature photographer, film maker, a marine biologist and a wildlife conservation. His nature photography displays a deep reverence and sensitivity for the wildlife and the environment of the most isolated endangered places in the world. What influenced Gallen Rowell to do photography was through frustration, Gallen Rowell says cold climates are a place of comfort for him. He likes to do photographs on animals in the water. He has been taking photos of wildlife and of the planets life for over 20 years.
One thing I like about his work is that It isn't a location where people go its an isolated place and then he is taking pictures of wonderful animals and of the blue oceans. The pictures he takes are very inspiring to look at.Also i can try and re create doing the the ocean/rivers and lakes pictures maybe some with sunset and some in the dark and maybe some in the middle of the day.
These are some of my pictures i took of nature, These pictures where in my photo gallery. Im trying to recreate Paul Nicken photography pictures because i like the colours he does, of the oceans and different types of animals like lions and sharks i wont be able to take pictures of sharks but i can do pictures of lakes water trees, flowers and dogs and birds and mess around with colour and .
Here are some edited landscapes I have done. How i done it is i used photoshop to edit out my pictures and then started to mess around with the colours and the brightness of the picture as u can see on the screenshots above.
Here i have done my first colleague, this is how i made it i got some photos from my camera roll and started to mess around with colour by changing the tone how i done that is i went onto photoshop to change stuff around. also i was cutting pieces out and placing them randomly on the a3 piece of paper. Here are some photos i have taken during making my work, every time i done something to it i took a picture to show what i done and how i done it and also to show what i can improve on it. I started to play around with printing the same pictures but they have been changed around, some the same some different, i got all the pictures and folded them in half together and made a little booklet once i folded them and stapled them together i opened the pages up and it came out as a different pictures for most of the pictures here are some photos of inside and outside of the book.
These are some of the photos i have taken from the booklet i had made it makes a cool design and amazing different photos that was made on accident.
Here are some photos i recreated of galen rowell and i went out and took some photos of some sunsets.
These pictures i took i think are really cool, the sunset stands out very well, the bright yellow and orange makes it look a little pink
